Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 20, 2026

Your privacy is important to us. It is WildFares’ policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across the website at wildfares.com and the WildFares iOS and Android mobile applications (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide and improve the Service.

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, name, and (optionally) home city, state, and preferred home airport. This information is used to provide personalized search results and send account verification and notification emails.
  • Usage Data (Web & App): We log information about how you use the Service, including the searches you perform, the alerts you create, and your IP address. This helps us monitor system performance, prevent abuse, and improve the user experience.
  • Mobile Device Information: When you use the mobile app, we collect your device platform (iOS or Android), an optional device name, and a push notification token issued by Expo / Apple Push Notification service (APNs) / Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These are used solely to deliver fare alerts to your device and to identify your active devices in your account settings.
  • Location (Mobile, Optional): If you grant the mobile app permission to access your location, we use it on-device to suggest the nearest departure airport. Your precise location is not transmitted to our servers; only the airport code you choose is saved as your "recent airport."
  • Web Analytics: The website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with wildfares.com. Google Analytics collects information such as your anonymized IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring websites. The mobile app does not include Google Analytics or any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for basic website functionality, such as maintaining your logged-in session and remembering your preferences.
  • Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. These cookies help us understand which features are most popular, identify technical issues, and improve the overall user experience.

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the website. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The mobile app does not use cookies.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To operate and maintain the Service.
  • To provide personalized flight search results based on your preferences.
  • To send account verification and important account notifications.
  • To deliver fare alerts via email and push notification to your registered devices.
  • To improve our search algorithms and user interface.
  • To monitor usage trends and prevent fraudulent activity.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We share data only with the following service providers, and only as needed to operate the Service:

  • Stripe (payment processing for web subscriptions) — Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play (payment processing and subscription management for in-app purchases) — governed by Apple’s and Google’s respective privacy policies.
  • Expo Push Notification Service (delivers push notifications via APNs and FCM on our behalf) — Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat (manages mobile subscription state and receipts) — Privacy Policy
  • Google Analytics (web usage analytics; mobile app is not included) — Privacy Policy

We do not share your specific search queries with airlines or any other third parties. We may share aggregated, anonymized statistics that cannot be tied back to an individual user.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Push notification tokens are deleted automatically when you log out of the mobile app or when Apple/Google reports the token as no longer valid. You may request deletion of your account at any time through your account settings. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ default data retention policies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and review the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of fare-alert push notifications by disabling them in iOS Settings → WildFares → Notifications (or the Android equivalent), or by logging out of the mobile app.
  • Opt out of web analytics tracking using browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure, including encrypted connections (TLS) for all client–server traffic and bcrypt hashing for stored passwords. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Third-Party Websites

Our Service links to third-party websites (e.g., Frontier Airlines for booking). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these third-party sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any website you visit.

9. Payment Data

Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers; we store only your Stripe Customer ID for subscription management. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

In-app subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never see your payment card or Apple ID password. We receive only an opaque transaction identifier and subscription status (active, expired, in trial, etc.) to apply your entitlement to your account.

10. Children’s Privacy

WildFares is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
